Adam Rich was a well-known American actor. Rich was recognized for his role as Nicholas Bradford, the youngest son on the TV series Eight Is Enough, which ran for 5 seasons (1977-1981). A distinctive feature of his appearance during his years as a child actor was his pageboy haircut, which inspired many parents of the era to copy the look for their young sons. Rich’s role on the show led him to be referred to as ”America’s little brother.”

At the age of 8 years, he won the role of Nicholas. Following Eight is Enough, Rich had roles in Irwin Allen’s short-lived 1981 television series Code Red on ABC and the 1983 sitcom Gun Shy on CBS. He then made guest appearances on TV series such as The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, CHiPs, St. Elsewhere, The Six Million Dollar Man, and Baywatch.
Rich did voice work on the cartoon series Dungeons & Dragons, together with Eight Is Enough co-star Willie Aames. He also appeared in television commercials for Betty Crocker Snackin’ Cake and Nabisco’s Wheatsworth crackers. Rich occasionally made personal appearances and marketed script ideas for television shows and movies as of 2013.
Legal issues
In 1989, he almost died of a valium overdose. He was then arrested and charged with attempted burglary of a pharmacy in 1991. Rich was arrested in 2002, for driving under the influence (DUI), and was in drug rehabilitation at least 3 times during his life.
