Following guest-starring in various television series, she gained fame for her role as Nekeisha Williams on the NBC sitcom The Carmichael Show (2015-2017). Haddish was arrested in Peachtree City, Georgia, on a charge of DUI on January 14, 2022. as police suspected she was under the influence of marijuana. The police received a 911 call of a driver who had fallen asleep behind the wheel on Highway 74 at around 4:00 a.m. They located her, driving the vehicle described to the 911 operator, as she was trying to pull into the driveway of a residence in an Atlanta suburb. Haddish was then booked at Fayette County Jail and later released the same day on a $1,666 bond. During this time, she was in the area to participate in filming for Haunted Mansion.

Child sexual abuse allegation

Tiffany and fellow comedian, Aries Spears, was sued for alleged grooming and sexual abuse of two minors in September 2022. As per the lawsuit, the minors were recruited to film various comedy skis and were requested to perform sexually suggestive content. Haddish’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, released a statement stating that the lawsuit had no merit. She then responded in an Instagram post saying that she deeply regretted agreeing to act in a skit that she said was supposed to be comedic but was ”not funny at all”.
