He was a former player of Mohammed VI Football Academy when he joined Strasbourg in 2018. Ounahi then moved to Championnat National club Avranches in August 2020. Ligue 1 club Angers revealed the signing of Azzedine on a four-year contract on July 14, 2021. On August 2021, he made his professional debut by scoring a goal in Angers’ 3-0 league victory over Lyon.

He was called up for Morocco U20 to take part in the 2018 Mediterranean Games. Ounahi then scored a goal in the 68th minute in a tie over Italy on June 22, 2018. He later went on to earn the bronze medal with the team following a win in the penalties shootout over Greece.
