High school career
Daniel was a four-star recruit in high school. He earned offers from many schools such as Vanderbilt, Kansas, and Florida in 2015. He joined Arkansas on August 1, 2015. Chicago Bulls (2019-2021)
Gafford was picked by the Chicago Bulls, as the 38th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Bulls then declared that they had signed him on July 8, 2019. He came off the bench in an 84-108 defeat by the Toronto Raptots with a rebound, in his NBA debut on October 26, 2019. Gafford was then assigned to the Windy City Bulls for the opening night of the NBA G League season.
