Early life and high school career
Duane was born in Frankfurt, Germany, while his father was playing for Skyliners Frankfurt. He was brought up in Grand Rapid, Michigan, and attended Grand Rapids Christian High School for his first 3 years. Washington averaged 13.1 points and 4.5 assists as a junior. He then transferred to go to his uncle Derek Fisher’s basketball camp and live with Fisher.
